Rhino

This wall-mounted sculpture reinterprets the animal trophy by merging a human face with sustainable textiles. It began with hand-drawn sketches and a custom mold formed from my own face. I stuffed it with natural wool and covered it in recycled cotton printed with a hand-carved block.

For the finish, I hand-beaded it with vintage materials sourced from estate sales to add texture and history. The project is a study in waste to wealth: forgotten materials turned into a high-end art object.

To give it a lifelike, organic presence, I used a custom mold of my own face as the anatomical foundation and filled it with natural wool stuffing sourced from a textile salvage yard.

The surface pattern was printed with a carved block, working through patterns and textures inspired by traditional textile techniques. I chose a vibrant pink and green palette for a high-contrast, modern look. After stuffing the Rhino, I beaded selected areas.
